Shira Kramer is a highly qualified Physiotherapist and fitness instructor and is the founding director of BeActive Physio; a boutique clinic that specializes in improving the health and well being of women of all ages and abilities. With postgraduate qualifications in physiotherapy (Exercise for Women), Shira regularly presents at conferences, universities as well as local community and ethnic groups to share her passion in health promotion and education. Along with her work in PR for the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Shira has created a strong referral network from local doctors, hospitals, obstetricians and personal trainers.


Abdominal exercises for new mums(PT - Pre and Post Natal)

Two out of three women experience a separation of the rectus abdominis muscle during their pregnancy.
The combination of abdominal weakness, hormonal changes, weight gain, and abdominal wall stretch exerted by your growing baby, can cause muscle separation along the centreline of the abdomen. This session will outline safe and effective exercises to assist your clients improve their abdominal support and help regain their figure following pregnancy.

Healthy Bones, Healthy hormones (PT - Special Populations / Injury Prevention and Management)

Are any of your participants female and over 40? In this session Shira will provide you with the safety, medical, physical and psychological issues to consider when working with women in their menopausal years as well as those with osteoporosis. A variety of exercise examples will be provided and you will leave confident in your ability to design programs or provide class modifications for this life stage.
